PTZ-3D Camera Systems — geometric calibration and remote vision

Technical project · By David Valor · AI Engineer · Venezuela

A technical system for converting geospatial coordinates and target poses into reproducible PTZ camera movements. The work connects spatial geometry, remote control, and image processing inside a distributed architecture.

The problem

Remote capture is not just a camera call: it requires calibrating the relationship between the map, local space, and the device's physical axes. The system had to support concurrent requests, recover state, and deliver traceable results.

Implementation

  • Automatic geopoint-to-local-PTZ transforms and camera-pose calculation.
  • WebSocket services for remote-unit communication and operational calibration from the console.
  • Execution queues to prevent overload when multiple capture and generation requests arrive.
  • AWS, S3, OpenCV, and FFmpeg integration for image/video storage and processing.
